IBS 2.7 > Group Administrator Functions: General Functions Q. When I set up a Group, I automatically become a Facilitator for that Group. Am I required to complete the Online Facilitator Training study program?A. No, you are not required to complete this study program. However, as a Group Administrator, one of your responsibilities will be to manage the facilitators who are leading courses within your Group. Although you many never facilitate a course yourself, you will have access to all the functions that facilitators perform, and you may need to serve as a backup or resource person for your facilitators. So it is highly recommended that you familiarize yourself with the facilitator's role by doing at least one of the following:
Read the Online Facilitator Orientation course (as a pdf)
To obtain a pdf version of the Online Facilitator Orientation course, log in to IBS and click Help near the top of the sidebar menu. Click the pdf icon next to Online Facilitator Orientation, second edition.
Complete the Online Facilitator Orientation interactive course
This course contains the same material as the Online Facilitator Orientation pdf, but in an interactive online format. Completing this online course will give you first-hand experience with an IBS course, as well as helping you to understand the role of the facilitator. If you have not already done so, you must register as an IBS student before you can take the course.
The Online Facilitator Orientation course is available from the IBS Learning Services Group, but you may add it to your own Group’s sales catalog to make it easy for students in your Group to find the course. See the articles on Course Catalog and Sales Catalog for detailed instructions on how to do this.
Alternatively, if you do not wish to add the OFO course to your Group's sales catalog, you (and your students) can take Online Facilitator Orientation from the IBS Learning Services Group. You will need to apply for admission to IBS Learning Services and be accepted into the Group before you can access the course. See the articles Explore Groups and Apply for Admission and Purchasing Products from the Sales Catalog for instructions on how to apply for admission to a Group and access the Group’s courses.
