Explore Groups and Apply for Admission

Solution

IBS 2.7 > General Functions

A video tutorial is available on this topic. Select Apply for Admission to a Group from the IBS Help Page, or click here to view it.

Before you can purchase or enroll in IBS courses, you must be admitted to one or more Groups. To begin the admission process:

  1. On the My IBS Portal page, click Explore Groups. The IBS Groups page will appear.
  2. Click the Group you would like to explore. You will see the Group’s Group Details page, which contains:
    • Group Description: This contains a brief description of the Group’s ministry, as well as a link to its website, if available.
    • Course Catalog: This is the master list of courses offered by the Group. It is a list of courses, not a list of items available for sale. It may even contain “coming attractions” – that is, courses that the Group intends to offer in the future that may not yet exist as a product that can be sold.
    • Study Programs (optional): Groups may choose to define one or more study programs. A study program is a set of courses recommended by a Group Administrator to meet specific educational goals or criteria for his/her Group. You may decide to follow a particular study program for your personal growth or to earn a certification or diploma within the Group.
    • Partner Contact Information (optional): Each Group decides whether to display its contact information in IBS; for security reasons, some Groups may opt not to show it. If the contact information is displayed, you may use the link provided to email the Group Administrator.
  3. After reviewing a Group’s information, if you wish to join the Group, click Apply for Admission to this Group (located on the right side of the Group Details page), then click Apply for Admission.

Your application will be sent to the Group, and a Group representative will review it. He or she may begin a dialog with you before deciding whether to admit you to the Group. When a decision has been reached, you will be notified on your My IBS Portal page.
