loves knowledge,1
but whoever hates reproof is stupid.2
12:2 A good person shall obtain favor from the LORD,
but the one3
with wicked plans4
He will condemn.
12:3 No one5
can be established6
through wickedness,
but the root7
of the righteous cannot be moved.
12:4 A noble wife8
is the crown9
of her husband,
but she who acts shamefully is like rottenness in his bones.10

of the righteous are just;
the guidance of the wicked is deceitful.

for blood,13
but the mouth14
of the upright shall deliver them.
12:7 The wicked are overthrown15
and no longer exist,16
but the house of the righteous shall stand.
12:8 A person17
will be praised in accordance with18
his wisdom,

will be despised.

but who has a servant21
than the one who pretends to be somebody22
but has no food.
12:10 A righteous person regards23
the life of his animal,
but the compassionate acts24
of the wicked are cruel.
12:11 The one who works25
his land will be satisfied26
with food,
but whoever follows fantasies27
lacks understanding.
12:12 The wicked desires the prey of evil men,28
but the root of the righteous yields fruit.29
12:13 In the transgression of the lips30
is a snare31
for an evil person,
but the righteous person comes out of trouble.32
12:14 From the fruit of the lips33
shall one be satisfied with good,
and the work of his hands34
shall be rendered to35
him.
12:15 The way of a fool36
is right37
in his own eyes,
but whoever listens to advice is wise.38

is known at once,40
but the prudent41
overlooks42
an insult.

tells what is right,44
but a false witness45
deceit.
12:18 Speaking recklessly46
is like the thrusts of a sword,
but the tongue of the wise brings47
healing.48
12:19 Truthful lips49
will endure forever,
but a lying tongue is fleeting.50
12:20 Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,51
but for the counselors of peace52
there is joy.
12:21 No trouble53
will be allowed to come to the righteous,
but the wicked are filled with evil.
12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD,
but those who deal truthfully54
are His delight.55
12:23 The shrewd person56
conceals57
knowledge,
but the heart of fools58
publicizes foolishness.59
12:24 The hand of the diligent60
will rule,
but the slothful61
shall become slaves.62
12:25 Anxiety63
in a persons heart64
bows him down,65
but a good66
word brings him joy.67
12:26 The righteous person is cautious in his friendship,68
but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
12:27 The lazy person does not roast69
his game,
but personal possessions70
are precious to the diligent.
12:28 In the way of righteousness there is life,
and along that pathway is immortality.71
