IBS 2.7 > Group Administrator: General Functions
When you applied to become an IBS Group, you entered basic information about your Group, such as name, address, description, etc. You can use the Edit Group Profile option (located in the sidebar menu under Group Administrators > General Administration) to update this information at any time.
Group Information
Use this section to edit the profile information (name, address, website, etc.) you entered when you first registered as an IBS Group.
You also may use this section to change how students are admitted to your Group. When your Group was created, your Admissions Management was set to Managed. Managed admission means that you will be notified whenever a student applies for admission, and you must accept or reject each application. If you choose, you may change your Admissions Management to Open. With Open admission, every student who applies to your Group is automatically admitted. No action from the GA is required. If you are considering Open admission, keep in mind that once a student has been admitted to your Group, you cannot remove him/her from the Group.
If your Group has documented admission requirements, you may include a link to your requirements document here. Potential students will be advised to view your document when they apply for admission to your Group.
IBS Notification Options
If you select "Yes" for this option, you will be notified whenever a new course is available to your Group in IBS. You can then add the course to your Group's course catalog if you wish.
Customize IBS for your Group
You can use this option to control the appearance of your Group's pages within IBS.
Promote your Group on IBS
This option allows you to specify whether contact information for your Group can be seen on the Group Details page by IBS users who are not admitted to your Group. When a student enters IBS, s/he may click on Explore Groups on the My IBS Portal page. This will display the IBS Groups page, which lists all active Groups. Clicking on any Group’s name will display the Group Details page which contains the Group description, course catalog, and study programs (if any) that have been entered by the Group’s GA. If the GA has elected to display contact information, it will appear here also.
Promote IBS on your site
Finally, you can use the code displayed here to help you create a link from your organization's own website to IBS. Copy the html code from the box labeled Partner Integration Code and include it in your website. You may edit it if you like; this is only a sample.
