IBS 2.7 > Group Administrator: General Functions

Some ministries and churches may collaborate with IBS as “silent partners” who translate courses or provide behind-the-scenes assistance. Many organizations, however, choose to partner in additional ways:

  • In a publishing role by contributing new material to the IBS course inventory
  • In an academic role by offering online classes and downloadable content for IBS users to purchase

A ministry or church that wants to expand its teaching boundaries through IBS may apply to become an IBS Group. A typical development of an IBS partnership (over time and with a team) might be:

  • Decide how you want to partner with IBS
  • Select a Group Administrator and register your church or mission as an IBS Group
  • (Publishing Groups) Create and contribute your own courses to the IBS inventory; determine which Groups you will share your courses with
  • (Publishing Groups) Publish your courses in one or more course formats
  • (Academic Groups) Define your course catalog, sales catalog and optional study program(s)
  • (Academic Groups) Recruit and admit students to your Group
  • (Academic Groups) If you are offering facilitated classes, select facilitators, create classes, and enroll students

Each of these steps is described in detail in the Group Administrator's Guide, available on the IBS Help page.

Potential partners should review and be in agreement with the following statements of IBS:

In addition, your organization should review the text and links on the IBS Partnership Process Page

After prayerfully considering the information in these documents, if your mission or church would like to be a part of this biblical training paradigm, please contact partnersupport@internetseminary.org. We want to serve you and assist you in achieving your goals and will be happy to discuss with you how IBS may be able to help.

When you are ready to register your Group, follow these instructions.

  1. The person who will be your Group Administrator should log in to IBS.
  2. On the My IBS Portal page, click Start a New Group on IBS.
  3. Read all instructions on the screen carefully. When you are finished, check the box to indicate that you agree to uphold the IBS doctrinal statement.
  4. Complete the application.

The IBS Staff will review the application and contact you when your Group is approved.
