Psalm 338
A psalm of David, written when he fled from his son Absalom39
3:1 LORD, how1
numerous are my enemies!
Many attack me.2
3:2 Many say about me,
God will not deliver him.3
(Selah)4
3:3 But you, LORD, are a shield that protects
me,5
you grant me honor6
and give me renewed strength.7
3:4 To the LORD I cried out,8
and he answered me from his holy hill.9
(Selah)
3:5 I rested and slept,
I awoke,10
for the LORD protects11
me.
3:6 I am not afraid12
of the multitude of people13
who attack me from all directions.14
3:7 Rise up,15
LORD!
Deliver me, my God!
Yes,16
you will strike17
all my enemies on the jaw,
you will break the teeth18
of the wicked.19
3:8 The LORD delivers,20
you show favor to your people.21
(Selah)
