26:1 Then Job answered and said,
26:2 How you have helped1
the powerless!2
How you have saved the arm that is feeble!3
26:3 How you have advised the one without wisdom,
and abundantly4
made known your insight!
26:4 To whom5
did you utter these words?
And whose spirit has flowed6
from your mouth?
A Better Description of Gods Greatness7
26:5 The dead8
tremble;9
those beneath the waters
and all that live in them.10
26:6 Death is naked before God;11
Destruction lies uncovered.12
26:7 He spreads out the northern skies13
over empty space;14
he suspends the earth over nothing.15
26:8 He locks the waters in his clouds;
and the clouds do not burst under them.
26:9 He conceals16
the face of the full moon,17
spreading his clouds over it.
26:10 He marks out the horizon18
on the face of the waters
for a boundary between light and darkness.
26:11 The pillars19
of the heavens quake
and are amazed at his rebuke.20
26:12 By his power he stills21
the sea,
by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces.22
26:13 By his breath the skies became fair,
his hand pierced the fleeing serpent.23
26:14 Indeed, these are but the outer fringes of
his ways!24
How faint is the whisper25
we hear of him!
Who can understand the thunder of his power?
