10:1This is the account1 of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham and Japheth: sons2 were born3 to them after the flood.
10:2 The sons of Japheth:4 Gomer,5 Magog,6 Madai,7 Javan,8 Tubal,9 Meshech10 and Tiras.11 10:3 The sons of Gomer:12 Askenaz,13 Riphath14 and Togarmah. 10:4 The sons of Javan:15 Elishah,16 Tarshish,17 the Kittim18 and the Dodanim.19 10:5 From these the coastlands of the nations were separated into their lands, every one according to its language, according to their families, by their nations.
10:6 The sons of Ham: Cush,20 Mizraim,21 Put,22 and Canaan.23 10:7 The sons of Cush: Seba,24 Havilah,25 Sabtah,26 Raamah,27 and Sabtecah.28 The sons of Raamah: Sheba29 and Dedan.30
10:8 Cush was the father of31 Nimrod; he began to be a mighty hunter32 in the earth. 10:9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD;33 that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD.” 10:10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel,34 and Erech,35 and Akkad,36 and Calneh37 in the land of Shinar. 10:11 Out of that land he went forth38 to Assyria, where he built Nineveh,39 Rehoboth Ir,40 Calah,41 10:12 and Resen,42 which is between Nineveh and Calah, that is the great city.
10:13 Mizraim was the father of43 the Ludites,44 Anamites,45 Lehabites,46 Naphtuhites,47 10:14 Patrusites,48 Casluhites49 (from whom the Philistines came),50 and Caphtorites.51
10:15 Canaan was the father of52 Sidon his firstborn,53 and of the Hittites,54 10:16 Jebusites,55 Amorites,56 Girgashites,57 10:17 Hivites,58 Arkites,59 Sinites,60 10:18 Arvadites,61 Zemarites,62 and Hamathites.63 Afterward the families of the Canaanites were scattered 10:19 and the borders of Canaan extended64 from Sidon all the way to65 Gerar as far as Gaza, and all the way to66 Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. 10:20 These are the sons of Ham, according to their families, according to their languages, by their lands, by their nations.
10:21 And sons were also born67 to Shem, the father of all the sons of Eber, whose older brother was Japheth.
10:22 The sons of Shem: Elam,68 Asshur,69 Arphaxad,70 Lud,71 and Aram.72 10:23 The sons of Aram:73 Uz, Hul,74 Gether, and Mash.75 10:24 Arphaxad was the father of76 Shelah, and Shelah the father of Eber.77 10:25 Two sons were born to Eber: one was named Peleg, because in his days the earth was divided;78 and the name of his brother was Joktan. 10:26 Joktan was the father of79 Almodad,80 Sheleph,81 Hazarmaveth,82 Jerah,83 10:27 Hadoram,84 Uzal,85 Diklah,86 10:28 Obal,87 Abimael,88 Sheba,89 10:29 Ophir,90 Havilah91 and Jobab.92 All these were sons of Joktan. 10:30 Their dwelling place was from Mesha all the way to93 Sephar, in the eastern hills. 10:31 These are the sons of Shem according to their families, according to their languages, by their lands, according to their nations.
10:32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, by their nations; and from these the nations spread94 out over the earth after the flood.
