Send Notice to Students in Class

You may sometimes need to send a message to your class as a whole or to an individual student. There are several ways to do this:

• Use email outside of IBS. You can see your students' email addresses in their profiles, if they have entered them. However, some students may not have email or may not be willing to share their addresses with IBS.
• Use the Private Messaging feature within the Class Discussions.
• Use the IBS notification system.

This article explains how to send a message to some or all of your students using the IBS notification system.

1. Enter the campus of the Group in which you are facilitating, then from the Facilitators menu, select Maintain Student Rosters.
2. Select the class containing the student(s) to whom you want to send a message.
3. A table appears listing all students currently enrolled in that class. 
• To send a message to a single student, locate the student in the table and click Notify (in the Action column).
• To send a notice to the entire class, click the indicated link above the table.

The student(s) will be alerted to your message on their My IBS Portal page.
