Deleting a post

Solution

IBS 2.7 > Class Discussions > Moderator Functions

Students cannot delete any posts from the Class Discussion forums once they have been posted. However, as moderator of the forum, the facilitator can delete any post in the forum.

Warning: Deleting a post is permanent, that is, a deleted post cannot be recovered. If there is any chance that you will want to see the post again, you can hide it instead of deleting it. See Unapprove/Hide Post for more information

If you decide to permanently delete the post:

  1. View the post that needs to be deleted.
Note: If there are any replies to this post, they will be deleted also. You cannot delete a higher-level post without deleting the lower-level posts attached to it. However, other posts at the same level as the deleted posts (and any replies to those other posts) will remain undisturbed. If you are uncertain about the hierarchy of the posts, view them in Threaded Mode. The indentation of the titles indicates the hierarchical structure.
  2. At the bottom of the post you want to delete, click the red X.
    delete post
  3. You will see a warning, asking you to confirm that you want to delete the post(s). This action cannot be undone, so be certain you have selected the correct post(s) to be deleted. When you are ready, click Delete Posts.
