Online Student Orientation

Solution

IBS 2.7 > Student Functions

The Online Student Orientation, Second Edition  course is intended for students who wish to take facilitated classes in IBS. NOTE: the Second Edition must be used with IBS 2.7.

It focuses on how to use the Class Discussion forums, which are available only in facilitated classes. As a prerequisite for this course, you should read the Guide to Using IBS 2.7, which is available on the Help page

The OSO course is available in two forms: a PDF file and an interactive IBS course. We recommend that you take the interactive course, as this will give you experience in actually using an IBS course at the same time you are learning about it. If possible, you should take it as a facilitated course, rather than independent study, so that you can also gain experience using the forums.

To take the Online Student Orientation course:

  1. Locate the Online Student Orientation course in your Group's sales catalog. If it is not available in your Group, you may join the IBS Learning Services Group and find it in their sales catalog.
  2. Click Add to cart and complete your purchase of the course.
  3. Select My Courses or Enter My Classes from the sidebar menu. You will see the class on the My Classes tab in My Courses.
  4. Click the Enter Classroom button to begin the class.
