Psalm 11⁵⁴

11:1 In the LORD I have taken shelter.¹
How can you say to me:²
“Flee to a mountain like a bird!³
11:2 For, look, the wicked⁴ prepare⁵ their bows,⁶
they put their arrow on the string,
to shoot in the darkness⁷ at the morally upright.⁸
11:3 When the foundations⁹ are destroyed,
what can the godly¹⁰ accomplish?”¹¹
11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple,¹²
the LORD’s throne is in heaven.¹³
His eyes¹⁴ watch,¹⁵
his eyes¹⁶ examine¹⁷ all people.¹⁸
11:5 The LORD approves of¹⁹ the godly,²⁰
but he²¹ hates²² the wicked and those who love to do violence.²³
11:6 May the LORD rain down²⁴ burning coals²⁵ and brimstone²⁶ on the wicked!
A whirlwind is what they deserve!²⁷
11:7 Certainly²⁸ the LORD is just,²⁹
he rewards godly deeds;³⁰
the upright will experience his favor.³¹
