Group Classes

The Group Classes option (Group Administrators > Academic > Students > Group Classes) allows you to see who is facilitating each of the classes in your Group and perform certain management tasks for online facilitated classes in your Group.

The Assign Co-Facilitators button will take you to the Manage Co-Facilitators page, where you can select an approved Facilitator in your Group and add him/her as a Co-Facilitator in the class. You can also use this page to remove a previously added Co-Fac from a class.

Co-Facilitators have limited capabilities compared to the primary Facilitator. Co-Facs are able to Assess Performance and can moderate Class Discussion forums for their class. Co-Facs cannot change or delete a class, drop a student, or finalize student grades or transcripts -- those functions are available only to the primary Facilitator of the class. Only the GA can add Co-Facilitators; the facilitators themselves cannot. This allows the GA to be aware of who the facilitators are for each class.

You can also use the Group Classes option to access some of the same pages that your facilitators use.

• The enrollment (number enrolled and enrollment limit) for each class is displayed. Clicking this number will take you to the Student Manager page, which is also available to your facilitators under Facilitators > Maintain Student Rosters.
• The View Performance button will take you to the Assess Performance page, which is available to your facilitators under Facilitators > Assess Performance.
• The Class Discussion button will take you into the forums, where you may read or participate in the online discussions along with the facilitator and students.
