Cannot open classroom ( pop-up issue )

Solution

IBS 2.7 > Classroom Functions

Q. When I click on the Classroom button in My Courses > My Classes, the classroom does not open.

A. The problem may be with the pop-up blocker settings on your browser. To work properly, you must allow pop-ups for the IBS site. Please read instructions for your specific browser below and make the changes needed.

 

MS Edge on a Windows 10 O/S:

  1. You should see a message at the bottom of your screen like Microsoft Edge blocked a pop-up from www.internetseminary.org.
  2. Click on the [Always Allow] button.

 

MS Internet Explorer (IE) on a Windows O/S:

  1. Click on the gear in the upper right corner.

  2. Select Internet Options.

  3. Click the Privacy tab.

  4. Under Pop-up Blocker, click Settings.

  5. Under Address of website to allow, enter www.internetseminary.org. Click Add, then Close. 

 

Mozilla Firefox (FF) on Windows:

  1. Press ALT if necessary to display the menu bar.

  2. From the Tools menu, select Options.

  3. Click Content.

  4. Under Block pop-up windows, click Exceptions.

  5. Under Address of website, enter www.internetseminary.org. Click Allow, then Close.

Mozilla Firefox (25.0.1) on OSX Mavericks:

  1. Click ’Firefox’ in the menu bar

  2. Click on ‘Preferences’ item

  3. Click ‘Content’ tab

  4. Under Block pop-up windows, click Exceptions.

  5. Under Address of website, enter www.internetseminary.org.

  6. Click Allow, Click the ‘RED’ window icon to Close Allow Sites - Pop-ups

  7. Click the ‘RED’ window icon to Close Preferences - Content 

 

Google Chrome on Windows:

  1. Click on the Chrome menu in the upper right corner.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Scroll down and click Show advanced settings.

  4. Under Privacy, click Content settings.

  5. Scroll down to Pop-ups and click Manage exceptions.

  6. Under Hostname pattern, enter www.internetseminary.org. Set it to Allow and click Done.

Google Chrome (31.0.1650.63) on OSX Mavericks:

  1. Click on the ‘Chrome’ in the menu bar

  2. Click ‘Preferences’ item

  3. Scroll down and click ‘Show advanced settings

  4. Under ‘Privacy’, click ‘Content settings

  5. Scroll down to ‘Pop-ups’ and click ‘Manage exceptions

  6. Under ‘Hostname pattern’, enter www.internetseminary.org. Select ‘Allow’ and click ‘Done’ button to Close ‘Pop-up exceptions’ window

  7. click ‘Done’ button to Close Content Setting window

  8. Close the ‘Settings’ Chrome Tab by clicking the tab’s ‘X’ icon

 

 

Apple Safari (5.71) on Windows:

  1. Click on the ‘Gear’ in the upper right corner

  2. Click on ‘Preferences’ item

  3. Click on ‘Security’ tab

  4. Click ‘Block pop-Up windows’ to remove the checkmark. You may wish to click it again to turn it back on when you are not using the IBS classroom.

  5. Click the ‘X’ window icon to Close Preferences-Security Window

Apple Safari (7.0) on OSX Mavericks:

  1. Click on the ‘Safari’ in the menu bar

  2. Click on ‘Preferences’ item

  3. Click on ‘Security’ tab

  4. Click ‘Block pop-Up windows’ to remove the checkmark. You may wish to click it again to turn it back on when you are not using the IBS classroom.

  5. Click the ‘RED’ window icon to Close Preferences - Security Window
