IBS 2.7 > Class Discussions You may find it helpful to subscribe to a forum or to a particular thread within a forum. Subscribing allows you to be notified by email whenever a new post is added to your forum or thread. This will help you to read and respond promptly to new posts, without constantly having to log in to Class Discussions to see if there is anything new. Subscribing to a thread or forum also places the subscribed item in your User Control Panel (User CP) under "Miscellaneous" in the menu on the left side of the screen. You may find that this helps you to locate your own forum(s) more quickly.Subscribing to a forum When you subscribe to a forum, you will be notified whenever a new thread is posted to that forum. To subscribe to a forum:
Subscribing to a thread You can also choose to subscribe to a particular thread within a forum; when you do this, you will be notified whenever a new reply is posted to that thread. This may be helpful when there is an ongoing discussion within a thread that you want to follow. Note that subscribing to a forum (or subforum) does not automatically subscribe you to the threads within that forum. You must subscribe to each thread separately if you want to be alerted when new replies are posted. To subscribe to a thread:
Changing your email addressYou must have a valid email address on file in your user profile if you are using subscriptions. To edit your email address:
Unsubscribing from a forum or thread If you change your mind about your subscription choices, you can unsubscribe. You can follow the same steps outlined above; the indicated links will now say "Unsubscribe" instead of "Subscribe". Or, to quickly unsubscribe from several items at once, you can use the User Control Panel.
